After growing tired of the ski bum life, Dave then did a brief stint in Fort Collins, CO. Not liking the Front Range nearly as much as the mountains, he decided to move to fabulous Durango, where he lives the dream one day at a time. Dave has worked here at Steamworks for almost 2 years and really enjoys the people, the customers and the atmosphere. He also relishes everything outdoors–from kayaking to camping to mountain biking. It’s the Durango way, right? He also stays active through snowboarding and snowshoeing in the winter.

Dave grew up in a small town in Missoura (the correct pronunciation where Dave is from) where he primarily caused trouble, fished, hunted, and caused more trouble. He moved to Kansas in high school and graduated from Kapaun Mt. Carmel in 1996 out of Wichita, KS. He then pursued an elementary education degree from Kansas State University and graduated in 2001. Yes, it took him 5 1/2 years to graduate from college…some people just call him Dr. Woodruff. Anyway, he moved to Vail, CO promptly upon graduation where he worked hard as a ski bum and bartender to make his way.
